Bat Wing on Congress Bridge

An Iconic Shape for an Off-Grid Solar Lighting Project at Lady Bird Lake. A 3.66 KW solar canopy powers an Outback inverter and a 1.2 kwh battery bank to supply power to Trail Lighting under the Congress bridge. Designed to respect the bat’s migratory patterns, the lighting is controlled on a timer. The off-grid system is also designed to shut down the lights in case of flooding conditions.

Lumos frameless solar panels, Outback Inverter and charge controller and Full River batteries comprise the technology suite for this project.
